什麼是非二元性別？任何不符合男女二元的傳統性別框架，性別即不是兩極不能變動的角色，又不是光譜，而是無所界限的表現宇宙。非二元者可能具有不男不女的性別氣質，可能流動在不同性別之間，又有可能完全沒有性別的概念。

關於計劃

這將是一本關於性別、性別酷兒、和各種非二元性別者的雙語故事書。內容包含

文字，繪畫，攝影等等，收集不同領域作者的創作。如今我們邁入彙整與翻譯作品

的階段，預計2020年四月印刷，在臺北各家獨立書店寄賣。不過，印刷書籍也

須負荷成本，因此我們懇求您的讚助，來讓我們的出版夢想實現！

——為什麼要蒐集故事？——

故事，是從己身出發，改變周遭的捷徑。而藝術，作為傳遞故事的載體，更具

有撼動心靈的力量。我們相信：用真誠的語言分享，不僅動人心弦，也比學術

論文來得平易近人。這些創作者，手執筆桿，每字每句或直率，或溫婉，或陰

鬱，每一篇都是他們的人生濃縮，亦是與讀者彼此窺視的窗口。

——為什麼以非二元為主旨？——

脫離二元性別很困難，連臺灣的酷兒圈也頗為二元化，許多人不知道有處在

男女之外（或之間、之上、都包含、完全無關等等）的可能。身為非二元者，

出櫃經常像證明自己的存在一樣，且由於無法滿足任一種形象，天天都要重新

出櫃。這樣子的人，何嘗不想像多數人一樣，永遠毋須費力解釋自己的存在，

一勞永逸呢？

「好像現在普遍的論述都是一定要感到非常痛苦，才能夠認同為非原生的性別。順性別還是一種假設，而人們必須要經歷極大的不舒服，才能被少數「開明」的醫師「證明」不是順性別。而非二元的想像，似乎還不在任何非二元社群以外的想像之中。」——VVN

——為什麼要採用雙語？——

臺灣本地或以中文撰寫的非二元相關故事其實非常少，多數倘若不是英文，就

是從英文直譯過來。因此很多不甚了解非二元性別的人們會傾向認為：非二元

是屬於西方文化的。事實上，每個社會都會有不符合性別主流的人們。今日欲

發揚本土的非二元性別意識，就非有中文的書寫經驗不可。簡言之，本書除了

代表台灣，也盼透過國際化的英語，提升接觸更廣大人群的可能。

從去年九月我們開放投稿及進行訪談，而如今將要畫下句點，最後一步，就只差您的

支持讓我們的心血實體化。每贊助2500元，即獲贈（臺灣境內的贊助者）一本精美

募款資金多用在印刷輸出成本，其餘則會給作者、設計師等貢獻者一些回饋來感謝

他們的付出與時間。不僅紙本，我們更打算建立一個網頁，將內容公開化、透明化 

，希望讓這個計劃能夠長存，同時歡迎更多人透過網絡發聲！

未來展望

除了分享故事外，我們計畫配合相關社群，舉辦工作坊。2020年春天將舉行一

系列工作坊，其中包含「如何奠基在不傷害自己，向『順性別』的人解釋非二元

/跨性別」和「我在教育系統中所遇到的性別困境」。 這些工作坊主要

目的為給非二元團聚和分享經驗的平台，也作為提供社會細水長流的教育

管道。

About the Project

A volume of collected essays, stories, photographs and art work, all created by non-binary and gender queer authors in Taiwan. We're here, we're queer, and we have stories to tell! However, self publishing a book is not easy  - that's why we're asking for your help to cover printing costs and make our gender queer-anthology-storybook dream come true!

Your donations will help cover printing and distribution costs, as well as related activity and event fees. Currently we're translating and compiling collected works, and preparing to print in April 2020.

——Why collect stories?——

 We believe that using sincere language to share our experiences is the most effective way to influence society. In this volume of collected works, each author’s voice is at once a reflection of their own life and a window to dialogue with the reader.

——Why center non-binary voices?——

Casting off binary expectations of gender is challenging. In Taiwan, even queer communities are for the most part built on a male/female binary. Many people are not aware even of the possibility of existing outside (or between, on top of, inclusive of both, completely unrelated to either…) of male and female identities. For non-binary people, coming out often feels like having to prove our existence, and often, staying invisible is easier than struggling to be understood. That's why we want to make a platform that centers gender-queer experiences.

——Why bilingual?——

Gender-queer resources written originally in Chinese or in Taiwan are few and far between. Most available resources are either in English or translations (mostly of American texts). Therefore, many people who are not well versed in non-traditional gender may conflate non-binary as an imported Western cultural idea. In reality, any gendered society has people who do not fulfill that society’s gender norms. If we want to carry forward a local cultural consciousness of non-binary gender, then it is imperative to have resources published in a local context. So, this volume is at once a representation of Taiwan, while also through the international language of English having the possibility to reach farther.

Beyond the Book

Written word lives only insofar as people interact with it and it becomes part of a community. In Spring 2020 we are holding a series of community discussions with topics including:“How to come out to cis people in a non self-harming way” and“Non-binary history in Taiwan: untangling queer identities from The West.” The goal of these discussions is to provide a place for non-binary people to come together and share their experiences, while also further raising social awareness about gender-queer issues.
